Dismantling
The start of the recycling process.
The first step in the recycling process is dismantling. Retired assets that are determined to be beyond their usefulness are collected from IT Management, our Asset Management Services. Regency has recycled an estimated 150,000+ tons of retired assets since 1998.
Dismantling is done by hand on computers, monitors, televisions and other similar equipment that is easily taken apart. This produces the highest degree of material separation possible, resulting in remarketable commodities.
| Dismantling involves removing the following: |
| • | Harddrives, printed circuit boards, motherboards |
| • | Light and dark plastics (exterior housings and interior components) |
| • | Wooden cabinets from TVs |
| • | Ferrous metals |
| • | Aluminum and other nonferrous metals |
| • | Wire |
| • | Copper yokes from CRTs |
| • | And more! |
Regency Technologies offers CRT glass recycling capabilities to isolate funnel tubes (leaded glass) from screens (nonleaded glass).
